I'm reading now Up The Organization by Robert Townsend. This is a reprint of the 1960's edition but, oh boy, it is so relevant today! The book is to be read in a direct-access-format so you can read any chapter straightforward without reading the previous. I jumped to the appendix - "rate your boss as a leader". It echoes pretty much to my thoughts but is more specific. Try to rate your boss on each of the aspects on a scale from 0 to 10 how she is:
